Chapter 22

“Will someone please do the honor of killing me in two weeks?” Natalie asked as she collapsed onto her beach towel, closing her eyes.

“Aw come on, school won’t be that bad,” Savannah replied with a shrug.

“It is when you can’t be lazy all day,” Natalie said with a laugh as she rolled over to her stomach, propping herself up on her elbows.

“Yeah well lucky you at least get to see your boyfriend during the day,” Hadley added in, sitting up from her towel. “And that he’s not fucking one billion miles away,” she added with a sigh, referring to some guy she started dating who lived in a different nearby city.

Natalie shrugged her shoulders. “Speaking of,” she said, turning towards her friends. “Can I borrow your phone, Sav?”

Savannah shrugged her own shoulders, tossing her new flip phone over to Natalie. She dialed out Bruno’s number, bringing the receiver up to her ear.

“Hey!” she said when he picked up, rolling back over onto her back. “I hope you know you’re still coming over for dinner tonight,” she added, squinting her eyes as she stared up at the bright sky, “cause Jameson and Jackson think you’re taking them surfing.”

“Oh Nat,” Bruno said with a thinking sigh. “I don’t know…mom’s making meatloaf for dinner, that’s pretty tough competition.”

“Well we’re having enchiladas,” Natalie said in a singing tone, knowing he’d easily give in to those.

“Damn, I love your mom’s enchiladas. You got me.”

Natalie smiled to herself when they hung up, throwing the phone back at Savannah. “So what exactly is up with you two?” she asked when she caught her phone, giving Natalie a curious look.

“What do you mean?” she replied, trying to figure out what exactly she was saying.

Savannah shrugged her shoulders. “I mean, have you guys like done everything?”

Natalie thought for a second, shrugging her shoulders in response. “I don’t know…” she said honestly. “I mean we’ve done stuff, but we haven’t actually had…sex yet…”

“Really?!” Savannah asked in a shocked voice. “Sheesh, I’d have thought you two would be fucking every night now,” she said with a laugh, teasing her.

Natalie rolled her eyes, smiling slightly. “…it’s not like he hasn’t tried though,” she said with another shrug, shaking her head. “We’ve been close, but never actually gotten—I guess—to that point yet…”

“Oh look at you, still all pure and shit,” Savannah replied with a small laugh towards Natalie.

Natalie rolled her eyes, throwing her shirt at Savannah. “Oh, whatever…”

“Natalie says I’ll get attacked by a shark if we went surfing with you,” Jackson said later that evening while sitting at the dinner table.

Natalie heard Bruno suppress a laugh while she stared across the table at her little brother. “Of course you will. That’s why you’re going,” she said with a cheeky smile before taking a bite of her food.

“Or maybe you could convince your sister to take you out and show you instead,” Bruno replied back to the two boys, raising and eyebrow back at them.

“Yeah right,” Jameson said with a scowl. “I saw her surf once. She sucks.”

“No you didn’t..?” Natalie replied to her brother, giving him a questioning look.

“Well either way, I’m sure you’ll both be much better,” Bruno said with a smirk as he glanced to the side at Natalie who glared at him.

“Oh Natalie, I forgot to tell you,” her mother said suddenly, drawing her attention away from the boys. “Your father and I will be in Maui all tomorrow for meetings, so I need you to watch the boys.”

“I don’t want to babysit…” Natalie stated, knowing her uncle was also out of town for the next week.

“It’s only for one day,” her mom replied simply.

“Can’t they just stay at their friend’s house or something?”

Her mom shrugged her shoulders. “I really don’t want to bother anybody at such a short notice, but I guess I could call someone.”

“You’re so spoiled,” Bruno said with a small smile, speaking quietly towards Natalie.

“Imagine that,” her father said, hearing Bruno’s comment. He turned to face Natalie, giving her a funny look as she tried to decide who to glare at this time.

She chose to ignore them as she finished her food, their conversations returning back to normal. After cleaning up the table, the twins eventually drug Bruno out of the house with them towards the beach. It wasn’t the best spot for surfing, but since they were only beginning, it really didn’t matter.

Natalie stood out on the sand, simply watching Bruno as he hilariously attempted instructing the seven year olds. After a while, her parents came outside to let her know they were heading off tonight already, as they would have to be there early, so they rented a hotel for the night.

A good hour after that, Jameson and Jackson eventually lost interest, but ended with quite a bit of success. The sun was just setting over the horizon when Natalie sent them into the house to get ready for bed.

“You’re so mean,” Natalie said when Bruno made it out from the water.

“Why?” he asked, giving her a serious look, sounding a bit concerned.

“You’re turning my own brothers against me,” she said with a pretend sad face before breaking out into a smile.

Bruno rolled his eyes, walking over to her to give her a hug. “You lovveeee me,” he said as she tried to back away from his open arms.

“You’re all wet—“ She let out a small scream as he wrapped his wet body around her, swaying back and forth, rubbing his wet hair into her face and neck purposely. “Bruno!” she shouted when he picked her up, running towards the water.

Natalie tried hitting and prying his arms off of her, but was unsuccessful until she felt her entire body submerged beneath the water. When she came up from the water, Natalie took a deep gasp, immediately splashing Bruno, walking back to the shore.

“Oh my God, Bruno,” she said, wringing out the bottom of her shirt. “I’m in my clothes.”

“We can change that,” he said as he laughed at her, tossing back on his shirt. She simply rolled her eyes, turning from him to walk back into the house. Bruno followed her down the hallway as she dripped water all over the floor.

When Natalie got to her room, she began closing the door before Bruno got a chance to walk through the doorway. “I’m changing,” she said in response to his eyebrow raise at her trying to lock him out of her room.

He laughed, shaking his head. “Oh come on, Nat,” he said, reaching his hand for the door. She smirked, shaking her head once before closing the door fully. She quickly changed out of her wet clothing and into a pair of sweats and a shirt, pulling up her wet hair into a ponytail.

When she left her room, Bruno was in the living room, flipping through the TV stations. Natalie flopped down on the sofa next to him, pulling her knees up towards her chest.

“I should probably get going soon,” Bruno said with a shrug, glancing at her.

“Noooo,” Natalie replied as she leaned her body against him, squeezing one of his arms. “There’s no one here kicking you out,” she added, implying that her parents weren’t home to say otherwise.

“Okay fine,” he said, putting his feet up on the footrest. “But I’m leaving at eleven.”

“Natalie,” she heard a soft voice whisper. Natalie shifted her body, mumbling something quietly, squeezing her eyes shut even more.

“Natalie.” She heard again, causing her to open her eyes. She blinked a few times, slightly confused as she tried to remember when she fell asleep. Bruno shifted his body against hers, beginning to stand up from the couch. “I’ve got to leave now,” he said as he slipped his feet back into his sandals.

“How about no,” Natalie said as she managed to make him sit back down, nearly falling asleep on his arm. “Just sleep here tonight,” she half mumbled in a sleepy voice, her eyes closed.

Bruno let out a deep sigh, shifting a bit. “Natalie, I can’t, you’ll—“

“Mom and dad are gone, there’s no way they’d find out,” she simply stated, her eyes still closed.

Bruno let out another sigh, not replying to her statement.

“Come on,” she said as she slid her hands down his arm, grabbing his hand with both of hers.

“I guess I could tell Tiara to tell mom I’m at Ryan or Brandon’s…” he said with a final sigh. Natalie smiled to herself, allowing him to get up to use the phone. She got up from the couch, walking over to her room in a zombie-like fashion, feeling as if she were to fall asleep before she even got to her bed.

The second Natalie crawled under her blankets, she was fast asleep. A few minutes later, she half woke up when she felt Bruno lay down next to her. “Goodnight, Nat,” he said softly, touching her arm gently.

“Goodnight, Bruno,” Natalie mumbled back, falling back to sleep.

Chapter 23

Natalie woke up the next morning to find Bruno’s wide open mouth facing her as he still slept. She tried not to wake him up with her laughing as she crawled out of bed, quietly tiptoeing out of her bedroom.

The boys were already awake, still in their pajamas as they watched cartoons on the TV. Natalie decided she’d make breakfast for them, remembering that her mother said they were to be picked up around eleven to go to their friend’s house.

By the time they finished up breakfast and Natalie sent the boys off to go get dressed, Bruno was still sleeping. Natalie chucked a pillow at his head when she walked back into her room, causing him to groan as he woke up, shifting in his sleep.

She heard the doorbell ring, causing her to go answer it to find the family friend there to pick up the twins. She talked to her for a few minutes until Jackson and Jameson got their things, and before long, they were out the door.

“Bruno get up, it’s eleven, you lazy piece of ass,” she said as she threw another pillow at his back, laughing. He mumbled something as he sat up, rubbing his disheveled curls.

“You look hot,” Natalie said sarcastically with a laugh as he rubbed his eyes. He shook his head, smiling at the ground as he let out a yawn.

He followed her out down the hallway to the kitchen. Natalie sat in the living room, flipping through the stations as Bruno ate. After a while she felt him sit down next to her, sharing the same view that she had.

“I feel like being lazy today,” Natalie said with a sigh as she leaned against Bruno, trying to find something to watch.

“So then let’s be lazy,” he simply stated, watching her. “No, go back,” he suddenly said when she changed the station. “I love that movie.”

Natalie flipped back to the previous station, turning to give Bruno a small eyebrow raise. “The ‘Waterboy?’,” she said with a questioning look.

“Of course. Now shut up and enjoy it,” he said, adding a in a smile.

By the time the movie was nearly over, Natalie eventually got bored of watching TV. She let out a soft sigh, reaching toward the remote, turning off the TV.

“Hey!” Bruno stated when the TV went black.

“I don’t feel like watching a movie anymore,” Natalie said, shifting her body to face Bruno.

His expression changed at her words as he turned his attention away from the TV. He gave her a questioning look, raising an eyebrow. “And what exactly doyou want to do?” He asked with a tiny smirk.

Natalie shrugged her shoulders, leaning over Bruno. “I don’t know,” she said, laying herself on top of him. “Just lay here with you,” she said with a smile, wrapping his curls around her fingers.

He looked up at her with a smile, his dimples shining through. “Just lay here?” He asked with another raised eyebrow. “Nothing more, nothing less?” Natalie shrugged her shoulders.

“Maybe a little more,” she said, leaning in to kiss him.

She felt his hot lips against her own as she leaned her remaining weight on top of him. His hands lowered to her hips as he deepened the kiss, slipping his tongue into her mouth. Natalie softly ran her hands into his curls, feeling the silky texture of each strand. She smiled against his lips as he shifted his body beneath her, knowing he liked what she was doing.

Bruno’s hands shifted their way up beneath her shirt, his fingertips gliding across her bare back. She wrapped her fingers further into his hair, his gentle touch sending chills through her body.

He shifted beneath her again, trying to readjust himself. She felt his discomfort, slightly propping herself up so she wasn’t completely on him. With the space between them, Bruno wrapped his arms around her hips again, pulling himself up from the couch so they both sat up.

Drawing back, he stood up from the couch, Natalie following suit. He looked at her in the eyes, not saying a word, but biting his lip. “Nobody’s home,” Natalie whispered softly in response to the question he didn’t ask. He nodded his head, gently taking her hand as he led her down the hallway to her bedroom.

Shutting the door behind her, Natalie turned to face Bruno. “We’re really going to do this?” She asked as she walked up to him again, putting her arms around his neck.

He simply nodded his head. “I’m not resisting if you’re not.” He said with a smile, kissing her again.

She forced herself to lean back from him as she reached for the seam of her shirt, lifting it off of her head. Bruno watched as he followed her, taking off his own shirt. He reached for the seam of his jeans, unbuckling them. Natalie hesitated before reaching at the zipper of her own pants, kicking them off to be discarded along with her shirt. She felt Bruno’s arms wrap around her again as he kissed her, his touch gentle.

Natalie felt her nerves building up as his hands slip up her back to her bra clasp. Her breathing quickened when he unhooked it, letting it fall to the ground as well. They both slowly shifted over to the bed, standing in just their underwear. “Bruno,” She said with an anxious voice as she leaned away from him. “I-I don’t know what I’m doing,” she stated honestly, giving him a scared look.

“It’s alright,” he replied as he looked at her. “I don’t know what I’m doing either.” He stated with a small smirk, making her feel slightly better. “But I’m sure it’s not too hard; we’ll figure it out.” He added, drifting his fingers across the skin of her back.

He kissed her lips once more, this time she didn’t kiss back, still slightly scared. “Don’t be nervous,” he said, his lips inches from hers. “Just…go with it,” He said with a smirk as he thought of the statement on spot.

Natalie bit her lip, nodding her head once before leaning back into him again, deciding she was going to give him her all. He shifted her over towards the bed where she laid down, feeling his body lean over her. He pressed both hands on either side of her body, placing a condom on the pillow near her head.

Natalie felt him send kisses down her neck as she turned her head to the side of the pillow. There’s my innocence right there, she thought as she stared at the small, still sealed package. Her breathing quickened and her nerves heightened as Bruno ran his lips across hers once again, taking the object from the side of her head back into his hands.

She pulled back from him as he glanced down at her, neither of them saying anything for a moment. “Is this what you really want?” He asked gently after a moment of silence. “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Natalie took a shaky breath, nodding her head, not saying anything. After a few seconds, she felt herself smile back up at him, slightly shaking her head. “Now take your own advice and just go with it,” she said with a tiny laugh, pulling him down to kiss him again.
