Chapter 10

Bruno’s P.O.V.
“Yeah. Yes. I will. Okay. YES! DAMMIT, THE DEMO WILL BE READY BY NEXT WEEK, DON’T PISS ME OFF NOW. Uhuuh. No… I won’t. Okay. Bye.” I hung up, tossed the phone on my bed, rubbed my eyes, and looked out the window. A walk was exactly what I needed, it normally helps refresh my mind a bit, I thought. I put on a sweater while I was thinking of the pressure I had piled on top of me from my recording team. There were five demos up which weren’t finished, and I only had less than a weeks time to complete them. My creativity was usually huge when it comes to writing or producing songs, but my mind was empty. I had no inspiration, let alone any ideas. And if I didn’t get it done by the deadline… I don’t even wanna imagine what would happen after that. Locking the front door of my apartment, I made my way up to a park, just to inhale some fresh air and to think about things other than my worries. There were little kids jumping, laughing and playing around on a playground. A little boy with blonde hair and huge blue eyes shot a ball accidentally towards my direction. I caught it and smiled at him. He ran up to me and I gave him his ball back. “Here you go buddy.” The little boy smiled back shyly and ran away. I continued walking until I found an empty bench. I decided to sit there silently and look up in front of me. There was a lake, surrounded by many different trees and flowers. The park was beautiful and I wondered why I’ve never realised how nice it is. For some reason the scenery of the park made me feel more relaxed than ever and it made me forgot about all my problems. I stayed like that for a while until I noticed a person 10 metres away from me. It was a woman, and she looked like she was taking pictures of the lake. I examined her. She wore black skinny jeans and a white blouse with a black cardigan. I don’t know what got into me, it was like my feet had a mind of their own. I stood up and headed towards the girl. There was something about her, I don’t know what or why, but I just had to go and speak to her. My hands were in my pockets, I stood next to her whilst she carried on taking photos until she turned around to see me watching her. My eyes lingered on her beautiful almond shaped, hazel brown eyes, her tiny nose, full lips and butterscotch skin. Her long, caramel brown hair was messy from the light wind, sending strands of her in different directions. She looked at me with a questioning face. Was I crazy? I don’t usually go up to girls like this, but I couldn’t help but stare at her. “Uhm, can I help you, sir?” she asked with an irritated voice. “No, no, I’m just standing here, you know it’s a beautiful day, so I decided to stand here next to y-you!” I stuttered. What the hell did I just say? I really was out of my mind. The girl furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. Before the situation could become any more awkward, I added “My name’s Bruno, what’s your name?” She took a strand of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear, smiling. She had two dimples that were showing. God, this girl was so beautiful. “I’m Amy. Nice to meet you Bruno.” I smiled relieved, even though I acted like a some retarded guy looking for a one night stand she still answered me. “Nice to meet you too, Amy. Erm, is there any particular reason why you’re here?” I asked her, my eyes still resting on her eyes. “No, I just decided to take some pictures with my camera. I’m a photographer and I wanted to take some good snapshots of the beauty of nature and this is the perfect place.” She pointed at the lake in front of her enthusiastically. “Oh, well in that case you have to take some pictures of me, cuz look at this beauty, dayuuuuum!” I said in a funny voice, as I pointed at myself up and down. She burst out laughing and raised an eyebrow, but surprisingly she took her camera out and took a few pictures of me whilst I did funny faces to make her laugh even more. We were both laughing, until, all of a sudden, she let out a piercing scream that made me flinch. She bent over and her whole body was shaking as she screamed, once again. I grabbed her waist “Amy, what’s wrong? What can I do? Tell me what to do!” Amy didn’t say anything, she just screamed more and fell to the ground. She cried louder and screamed my name repetitively. I yelled for help but nobody was around. Everything around us faded into darkness and turned black, there was no lake, no grass, no nature, nothing. Blood started to appear all over her body and she kept calling my name. Her eyes showed no emotion, she looked straight through me. I tried to wipe the blood away from her face with my shaky hands, but there was too much. “Bruno, Bruno, help me, please?” My heart was racing. I didn’t know what to do. “Bruno…” she said once again. “How can I help you? I , I…Amy!” I yelled, holding her face and body tight to me, but she slowly faded away from me. I could still hear her calling my name until everything went from black to nothingness. I felt something wet on my face and I opened my eyes. My heart was racing, my clothes were drenched with sweat and I was breathing heavily. I looked around and found a worried Lacey sitting next to me. The bed I was sleeping in was unfamiliar, it obviously wasn’t my bed. “Bruno.. Shh, it’s okay. It was only a bad dream, breathe.” I breathed in and out deeply and placed my face in my hands. After a minute I calmed down. I looked up to her and asked, “Where am I? And why are you here? I mean, not to sound rude or anything…” She raised one hand, telling me to shut up and gave me a glass of water. “Drink this first.” I took the glass and drunk it in one shot. Then she began to explain. “You, Phil and Ari had a little too much to drink last night.” She raised an eyebrow. “It was kinda illegal to let you outta the house. So I decided that you could stay the night. You three agreed, but I guess you can’t remember a thing, you really were drunk.” She grinned at me funny, but became dead serious again. “Anyways, I heard you yelling ‘Amy’ from the kitchen so I decided to check up on you. I tried to wake you up from your nightmare by calling your name but you obviously didn’t hear me.” I looked down at the floor and run one hand through my hair. “I dreamt about the first time I met her. You know, we met in a park, and the dream reflected on exactly what happened that day..everything was the same, well except the end.” I knew the dream seemed familiar. I met her in the same place in my dream 3 years ago, we got to know each other just like in the dream. But instead of her dying in my arms, I would ask her out, she would agree and we would become a couple after a month. Lacey must’ve noticed that I zoned out because she looked at me with a concerned look on her face . “Is everything okay, Bruno? Do you need me to get you someth-” I cut her off “No, no it’s okay Lace, thank you though. Really, thank you. It’s only..” I looked at the clock “..3am, go to sleep. Thank you for taking care of me though.” She smiled. “No problem Bruno, that’s what friends do!” she replied and winked at me. “Goodnight!”.

I woke up forgetting that I was at Lacey’s. I got up slowly realising it’s 10am. I went into the bathroom, washed my face and looked at myself in the mirror. I had a rough night. I can’t believe after almost a year I still can’t get Amy out of my head. The worst part is that everyone expects me to forget what happened that day and move on. The nightmares keep getting worse and worse, like they’re trying to haunt me. I went downstairs hoping that everyone else would be down there so I wouldn’t be on my own. I crept down the huge staircase really quietly, as if I was scared of something, but I don’t know what. I heard faint voices coming from the garden. I got closer to the garden door, making sure I didn’t grab attention from whoever was outside. As I got closer to the back I saw Lacey and Scarlet sitting there drinking what seemed to look like coffee. I heard someone crying. I looked through the window of the large patio door, it was Lacey. I felt bad for dumping my problems on her, she obviously had problems of her own. “Scarlet I can’t do this anymore, I love him so much. You may think I’m crazy but I know he loves me back. We’ve been together for nearly 2 years now and we’ve gotten so far, I just don’t want to go through a rough break up with him because of one dumb argument.” Tears were streaming down her cheeks. Scarlet hugged her and saw me. She smiled at me weakly, knowing I heard every word Lacey said. I grabbed the door handle and opened it, not making a sound. Lacey turned around after a while. “Are you okay?” I asked, feeling bad for her. She just simply nodded and looked at her feet. “Lace, I know you’re lying. It’s Aiden isn’t it?” “It’s okay bru-” She was cut of by her phone. She looked down at it and frowned slightly. “What’s wrong Lace, what did he say?” Scarlet asked in a worried tone. “He said he wants to talk and he’s coming over in an hour.” I balled my fists. Scarlet must have noticed because she laid a hand on my shoulder, telling me to calm down. Lacey sighed. “Come on, lets go and make a proper breakfast.”

Lacey’s POV

All the guys were awake and Scarlet and I made them all breakfast. They must have really like it or must’ve been really hungry. “Thanks for the awesome breakfast girls.” Phil said laying back casually in his chair. “No problem.” We both said in unison. “So what do you guys have planned for today?” They just shrugged and looked at each other. “Dunno, we’ll just see where life takes us.” Ari finally replied. “You doing anything?” I thought to myself for a moment. “Urm…. No, I don’t think so. Wanna go out?” I asked. Jay cleared his throat. “Yo Lace, I think you’re forgetting something.” I probably had a confused look on my face. I don’t remember having anything scheduled for today. Jay must have noticed my confusion by my silence. “You have your photo shoot with Esquire today, Remember?” Shit, I completely forgot. “Damn, sorry guys I forgot about the photo shoot.” “That’s cool, don’t worry about it. What’s the photo shoot for?” Bruno asked. He looked so tired, I’m not surprised he must of had a terrible night. “Lacey has been named Esquire’s sexiest woman of 2010.” Jay answered. I felt my cheeks go red. “It was supposed to be like 8 months ago, but the photographer that was meant to do the job couldn’t make it.” I said whilst getting up from my seat. Everyone else carried on with their conversations as I washed the dishes. The door bell then suddenly rang, everybody stopped talking and looked at me. “Be right back guys, let me just get this over with.” I sighed and looked down. Someone stopped me by grabbing my wrist. I turned around to see Bruno standing there. “You gonna be okay? Just remember all five of us are in here if you need us.” I nodded and smiled slightly. I made my way over to the front door, I took a deep breath before opening the door. I looked up to see Aiden standing there with a bouquet of roses and a little gift bag. I smiled slightly, he knows I love roses. I let him in and lead him up to my room. He smirked. “We’re not having sex Aiden.” I laughed a little. We got into my room and we sat on the couch. “Look baby, I’m so so so so sorry you don’t understand how dumb I was, you know I love you just as much as I know you love me. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. You don’t have to believe me, but just hear me out. I know you’ve got millions of guys in the world that wanna be with you too, and I’m more than lucky to be with you. Without you I’m nothing, if you ever let me go I would probably die. I don’t need another women. I just want you or nothing. You’re kisses and hugs make me feel like I’m falling in love with you all over again. You complete me and I just wanna be with y-” I cut him off with a deep and passionate kiss. He smiled and then kissed me back. I pulled back and smiled. “I love you.” He suddenly said. “I love you too boo.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen Aiden look so happy. “Babe, you know I meant every word I said right?” I nodded slightly. “I got you this too. I don’t want you to think I’m buying you back, but I thought you’d like it.” He smiled again showing his perfect teeth and passed me a small gift bag. I opened up a small blue velvet box and my eyes teared up. He got me a locket and it had ‘I love you, forever and always’ engraved on it. “It’s beautiful boo.” “It’s nothing compared to you though babe.” I felt myself blush, bright red. He put it on for me and we head back downstairs, our fingers intertwined.
