The ride back to Vancouver was quiet. Bruno looked over at Rainie and saw her playing with her locket. “What’s that?”
“Oh, it’s a locket my mom gave me after my brother died. When I was sixteen, my little brother died of Leukemia. He was only eight.” she sighed, remembering the little time her and her brother spent together.
“I’m so sorry, Rainie.” Bruno grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
“It took me a long time to get over his death, but now I just focus on the good times we had together.” Rainie smiled as she remembered him then leaned her head against the window. Bruno continued to hold her hand as he drove through the night back to Vancouver.
Rainie and the guys all lived on the tour bus together. It has been about a week since Bruno and Rainie’s trip back to Portland. They were still in Vancouver but were getting ready to leave. They had been staying in a hotel near the stadium but they spent most of their time in the tour bus. One night, they were chilling in the tour bus writing songs. They got bored and started writing a song called the Lazy Song.
“Today, I don’t feel like doing anything. I just wanna lay in my bed...” sang Bruno as Kenji strummed the music. “Don’t feel like pickin’ up my phone, so leave a message at the tone, cuz today I swear I’m not doing anything...” That was all they had gotten so far but what they had was pure genius.
After a while, they had finished the verses and were working on the end. This song was hilarious! Then, out of nowhere, Rainie started belting, “No I ain’t gonna comb my hair, cuz I ain’t going anywhere. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, noooo.” She finished the whole ending and no one tried to stop her. After she was done, they all erupted into applause.
“That was AMAZING!” Phil gushed. Everyone agreed with him and Rainie blushed and looked away. Bruno just sat there and smiled. “Well, I guess we know why you’re minoring in music.” Rainie laughed and was asked to sing something else. It took a little convincing but she finally sang Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles. Once again, there was a round of applause.
“Damn.” said Bruno still in awe. Rainie giggled and told them to keep working. The other guys got back to work but Bruno just kept staring at Rainie. She pretended not to notice.
About a week later, they had a concert in Vegas. They all got ready while Rainie chatted with Janelle. Then Dre, Bruno’s bodyguard lead Rainie backstage instead of in the crowd this time. She sat there and listened to Janelle’s incredible voice. As she sat there, she looked around backstage. She looked at all the lights and wires. She looked to her left and saw some people with clipboards talking. Then she looked to her right and there was a man staring at her. He was dressed in all black and built exactly like the man who raped her. Rainie couldn’t see his face very well, but she was almost positive it was him. She looked around for someone to help her. She wanted to scream but she couldn’t find her voice. She tried to stand but her legs were all wobbly and she couldn’t felt dizzy. her ears were ringing as she felt herself fall backwards and then she watched her world go dark.
Rainie woke up with an ice pack on her head. She looked around and she saw she was back on the tour bus. She sat up and saw she was in the private bedroom in the back. Then she heard music through the door and got up to investigate. Bruno was sitting there strumming some random chords and humming to himself. He was so perfect. He saw her and he put his guitar down.
“Don’t stop because of me! That was beautiful.”
“It was just something stupid. How are you feeling?”
“I just have a little headache. It’s all good. Where is everyone else?” Rainie sat down next to him.
“They were hovering over you worrying their asses off so I told them to go get some air. Trust me, I was doing enough worrying for everyone. Are you sure you’re okay?” Bruno brushed a piece of hair out of Rainie’s eyes.
“I’m fine. It’s just a little headache.”
“Here, why don’t you lay down.” Bruno laid her down in a way to that her head was in his lap and he started making trails with his fingers from the tip of her nose to the top of her forehead. She started giggling as it tickled her skin. Then after a while it started to help her headache so she closed her eyes and let Bruno do it. “Tell me what happened.” Bruno said. Rainie sighed.
“I was sitting backstage and I swore I saw Anthony, the guy who attacked me. I started panicking and I tried to get up and move away but I felt all dizzy and nervous and I guess I just collapsed.”
“Are you sure it was him?”
“It looked like him. I don’t know... Maybe. WAIT!” Rainie shot up and looked at Bruno who was shocked at her sudden movement. “Your concert!”
“But you shouldn’t have to keep doing that! I’m obviously not a really good choice to keep around. I keep ruining everything for you.”
“Rainie, you’re not ruining anything.” he said. Bruno put his hands on the sides of her face. “You’re too important to me to just let you go. I can’t Rainie. I can’t.” I looked legitimately upset that she might leave him. He leaned in and kissed her, something that she’d wanted him to do since she had gotten on the bus. His kisses were soft, and loving. But as they kissed, Bruno grew more aggressive and wanting. His hands touched every part of her. Rainie could barely breathe. He sucked her neck and she barely suppressed a moan. She could feel Bruno smiling against her skin. Bruno drove her crazy. She had never wanted anyone so much in her entire life. She wanted everything with him. She wanted him to kiss her tenderly on the lips on minute and then throw her against the wall and fuck her brains out the next! Bruno pulled her onto his lap so that she was straddling him. Rainie has forgotten what she was wearing. She was wearing a short, black, strapless bubble dress with high heels. Although, someone had removed the high heels. Bruno’s hands wandered up her dress and his fingers were playing at the sides of her underwear. That time, she didn’t stop her moan. Bruno was getting really close to her.... area... but she didn’t mind at all. They were both out of breathe when Bruno pulled away. Rainie was shocked. He saw the expression on her face and laughed. Then he leaned his forehead against hers. “Not here. Come with me.” He grabbed her hands and they hopped off the tour bus and headed for the stadium.
