Chapter 5

20/09/2011 03:23

Cesar looked extremely tired. I wanted to hug him, but it would have been awkward

with Bruno here.

"Can I talk to you?" He said. Bruno pulled on my hand. I looked at him and he looked

worried. I squeezed his hand, and looked back at Cesar.

"Come in." I stepped aside, and Cesar walked in. I closed the door and motioned

toward the couch. He made his way over.

"Who the hell is he?" Bruno whispered. He sounded jealous. I smiled inside.

"You'll see." I whispered back. Bruno and I made our way to the couch and sat down.

Cesar looked at us intently. I broke the silence.

"Bruno, this is Cesar. Cesar, this is Bruno." They stood up again and shook each

others' hands. They sat back down. Nobody talked for what seemed hours.

"How did you find me?" I finally asked. Cesar looked at the floor.

"Can I see your Teddy bear and some scissors?" I looked at him, confused. I then

asked Bruno if he could go get Mr. Bear. He squeezed my hand and then left to my

bedroom. I went to the kitchen and got a knife. Bruno and I came back to the living

room at the same time. We handed the stuff to Cesar and sat back down.

"May I?" Cesar said, pointing at Mr. Bear with the knife. I looked at him as if he were

crazy. "I'll be careful, I promise." I believed him, and nodded. Cesar turned Mr. Bear

over, so he was laying face down. Cesar took the knife and slid it down Mr. Bear's

back. There was now a gash in his back about four inches long. Cesar stuck his hand

in and after a few seconds, found what he was looking for. He took his hand out,

walked over to us. He put his hand in front of our faces and opened it. Inside his hand,

there was a small, black... microchip?! I glared at Cesar. He saw me and snapped it in

"Who put that in there?!" I yelled. I ran over to Mr. Bear and picked him up. Cesar

just looked at me. Then, it clicked. Dad. "Why didn't you tell me?" I said. Cesar

looked at me with sad eyes.

"He said he would kill me."

"Over a fucking microchip?" He shrugged. I couldn't stay mad at him. If someone had

given me a threat like that, I would have kept the secret.

Cesar and I both sat back down. Next to each other this time. Bruno looked

"My turn to ask a question. Why'd you leave?" Cesar said. I sighed."My dad abused me and I couldn't take it anymore." he nodded.

"I know." he said. My headed snapped up.

"And you never said anything?!"

"To who?"

"The police!"

"Daisy, you don't know how many times I fucking tried! They told me that unless you

came in with me, they couldn't do anything about it! And don't go blaming shit on me!

You had so many chances to talk when the police came over to your house from

complaints of screaming! They could have taken him then and there!" I said nothing

because he was right. He took my hand. Bruno looked angry. We sat there for a

minute, he was trying to calm down. Then, he continued. "I really wanted that man out

of your life. I hate him just much as you do."

Cesar looked back at me. I didn't know what to do.

"Daisy, I know this is a little uncomfortable for you, talking about this in front of your

boyfriend, but I just had to see that you were alright." He stood up and started walking

toward the door. I stood up as well. "You have my number. Call me if you ever need

"Cesar, wait." I said running over to him. I jumped over the coffee table. I hugged him

as hard as I could. He hugged me back. He was maybe six inches taller than me.

"Thank you so much for being there when I needed you. You mean a lot to me, and

you always will. No one has made such an impact on my early life."

"Nice save," I heard Bruno say. All three of us started laughing. Cesar and I let go, but

he still had his arm over my shoulder. After we stopped laughing, I continued.

"Cesar, the day I get married, I want you to walk me down the aisle." he nodded. "You

will always be my big brother. No matter what. Remember that. I love you so much,

Cesar." I went in for another hug. Cesar didn't complain.

"I love you too, Daisy." he said, lifting me off the ground. I started laughing. He put

me down and push me toward Bruno. Bruno hugged me then we looked at Cesar.

"Well, I have to head home." He said, coming up to us.

"So soon?" I asked.

"Yes, Daisy. I have a job." he said. I smiled. He hugged me once again. "I love you,"

he said.

"I love you too." I tried to lift him up this time, but I failed miserably. Cesar laughed

and let go. He walked over to Bruno and gave him one of those manly hugs.

"You better be good to her." he said, nodding towards me."I will. Don't worry." Bruno replied.

Cesar headed to the door and looked back. He smiled.

"Bye, you guys." Cesar said, walking out the door.

"Bye." Bruno and I said at the same time. And with that, Cesar was gone. I threw my

head back and sighed.

Cesar was very important to Daisy. I wasn't going to let me being jealous ruin

anything. He was gone now, so everything was fine.

Then, I remembered about London. Everything was not fine. Last night, I called

Aaron and asked him if he could get us another ticket. He said he could see what he

could do. I just need Daisy to agree to come with me, and the rest we could work out.

When I looked at Daisy, she had her head thrown back and her eyes were closed. I

smiled and started tickling her. She laughed and tried to push my hands away.

"Bruno! Stop!" I said, laughing.

"No!" He sounded like a five year old. He was still tickling me, laughing as well.

There was only one way I could think of that would stop this. While still laughing, I

grabbed Bruno's face and pulled it towards mine. I pushed my lips against his. I

started to kiss him with so much passion, it felt like I was floating in the sky. He,

obviously, stopped tickling me, and put his hands on my face. We continued kissing

passionately for another ten seconds, then I pulled away for air. I opened my eyes

quickly to see Bruno's reaction. He still had his eyes closed and he was moving his

lips. It looked like he was making out with the air. I laughed quietly. He opened one

eye slowly, and then the other. I smiled and stood there; I felt accomplished. He

smiled back, looking a little flustered.

"Would you go to the movies with me tonight and then go get dinner?" he said, after

pulling himself together.

"As long as I pay my half." I smirked. He glared at me.

"Daisy..." he sounded like a five year old that didn't get what he wanted.

"Bruno..." I mocked. He smiled at me.

"Why don't you want me to pay?""I want to pay for something. Plus, you already bought me all the stuff in the kitchen.

Paying for my half is the least I could do."

"You being here with me is all I need." I blushed. He smiled and held my chin up. He

kissed me softly.

Daisy and I spent the whole day together. After Cesar left, we went to the beach. I

tried to convince her to get in the water, but she didn't budge. So, I threw her in. Her

phone got destroyed. I bought her a new one. She tried to pay for it. Then went to my

parents' house and she met my mom. They talked about me. And shopping. After they

talked, I got Daisy to play the piano for Phil, Ari, and me. She did absolutely amazing.

She made it look effortless. Like it came to her naturally. After she finished playing, I

got a call from Aaron. Probably about the flight. I went outside.

"Did you get anything??" I sounded desperate.

"Well, I found a seat on the same flight, but it's not very close to the other ones. And

if you don't mind me asking, who else are you bringing?"

"My girlfriend. Well, she's not officially my girlfriend. Yet." I smiled like an idiot.

"Okay." Aaron continued, "I'm going to get the seat. It will be mine, so you lovebirds

can sit together. And so I could actually sleep. You, Phil, and Ari get loud as fuck." I

"Thanks Aaron. You're the best."

"I know. See you at LAX tomorrow."

"Alright." I hung up. I sighed. Now the hard part. Getting Daisy to agree to come with

me, I mean, us.

I decided to cut our movie date, so if Daisy agreed to come with me, I could help her

"What do you think about London?" I asked. I wanted to trick her into this.

"I think it's absolutely beautiful and the weather is amazing. Why?"

"Wait, you've been there before?"

"A few times." I smiled. She could possibly show me around.

"Well, we were asked to help produce a group over there for a month.""That's great!" My heart dropped a little bit.

"I don't want to do it." I said. I wasn't going to London without her.

"Why not?!"

"I wouldn't see your beautiful face everyday." I saw her put her head down and blush.

She didn't say anything.

"If I asked you to come with me, would you do it?" I crossed my fingers. We were

almost at the movie theatre. 'Hurry up, Daisy!' I thought.

"Yeah, I would." I got so excited, but I tried not to show it. When we passed the

theatre, she looked at me.

"We're not going to watch a movie?"

"Nope." I said.

"Alright, where are we going?"

"Your apartment." She tilted her head, confused.

"I'm going to help you pack."

"You said if I asked you to go to London with me, you'd say yes."

"Yeah, but you haven't asked me yet, have you?" Damn it.

"Would you go to London with me? And would you be my girlfriend?" She was about

to answer the first question when I asked the second one. She closed her mouth

immediately. She looked at me. She looked kind of shocked. But I smiled. I pulled up

to her apartment and parked. She still hadn't answered. I took the keys out off the

ignition. I got out off the car, went over to the passenger side, and opened the door.

Daisy looked at me. I smiled.

"I'd love to." I smiled even bigger and pulled her gently out of the car. I closed the

door. I pushed up her up against it and kissed her with all the passion in my soul. I

could tell she did, too. She started running her fingers through my hair. It felt

amazing. I ran my left hand up and down her back. I kept my right hand caressing her

cheek. Suddenly, she pulled on my hair. I let out a slight moan. I could feel her smile.

After we stopped kissing, we kept our heads together. Our lips were millimeters apart.

She kissed me softly, and got a hold of my lips with her teeth. She pulled slightly then

let go. She licked her lips and smiled.

"We should go pack." she said, putting her hands on my chest.45 MINUTES LATER

We were almost done packing. She just needed to throw in some 'personal items' in

and we'd be done. I really didn't want to know what those personal items were. I was

sitting on her bed.

"What took you so long to answer my question in the car?" I asked. She was putting a

few more things in the suitcase. She looked up at me.

"I was letting it sink in." She started zipping up the suitcase. Finally.

"What do you mean?"

"I had never been asked to be someone's girlfriend before. I just kind of assumed I

already was in past 'relationships'. But then when the guy I thought I was with got

with another girl, and I confronted him, his answer was always..."

"'we were never together'." I finished. She looked at me and nodded. She finished

zipping up the suitcase. She picked it up and set it by the door. She came back and sat

next to me on her bed. I took her hands.

"So, technically, you're my first boyfriend." She said and shrugged. I smiled at her.

"I'm going to be the best first and last boyfriend you've ever had." I said. She looked at

me, confused. I let it sink in. After a few seconds, I think she got it because she kissed

me softly. I was going to do even the impossible to make that statement true.

We sat there for a couple of minutes just looking at each other. That was the farthest

thing from awkward.

"So, when are we leaving?" she asked, breaking the silence.

"Tomorrow. 08:00." She looked at me, eyes wide open. She looked at the clock.

"That was uncalled for. We should go to sleep." I nodded. I got off the bed. She went

in the bathroom to put her pajamas on. I took all the decorative pillows off the bed.

She got out of the bathroom wearing matching silk shorts and tank top. They were

light purple. They are same exact color as her guitar. She got into bed and I gave her a

goodnight kiss. I headed to the door.

"You're not going to sleep with me?" She gave me a puppy face. How could I say no

to that? I smiled and turned off the lights. I headed over to the bed and took off my

shirt, shoes, hat and glasses.

"Can I take off my jeans?" She covered her face with the sheets. I'm guessing thats a

yes. I took them off and jumped into the bed. She laughed. I covered myself with the

sheet. I turned on my left side to face Daisy. She was on her right side. We stared at

each other for what seemed like hours. I wasn't complaining. I slowly started moving

towards Daisy very slowly and subtlety. She was, too. When there were only about

three inches of space between us, we hugged. Her head was on my chest. I rested mychin on the top of her head.

"I love you, Daisy."

"I love you, Bruno."

I gave her a goodnight kiss. I fell asleep to the sound of her breathing.

Nothing could ruin this moment. Not even an earthquake. If I died, at least I would die

in Bruno's arms. I laid my head on his chest. I felt his chin on the top of my head.

"I love you, Daisy."

"I love you, Bruno."

He lifted my head and kissed me. I put my head back on his chest. I fell asleep to the

beat of his heart.

I woke up to the sound of Daisy's alarm clock. I got pissed and threw it across the

room. It hit the wall, and broke into pieces. That woke Daisy up. She sat up suddenly.

"What the hell was that?!" She almost screamed, frantically looking left and right. I

started laughing at her nervousness.

"Your alarm clock," I said, pointing to the other end of the room. She looked over and

"Nice." she said. I was going to buy her a new one when we get back. "What time is

"Alright. I'm gonna go take a shower."

"I'm going to go take a shower at my hotel. Then I'll go pick up Ari and Phil. Is it okay

if I bring them here?"

"Sure. Go ahead." she smiled, picked up her clothes and headed for the bathroom. I

then got up, threw on my clothes, and headed out.

I got out of the shower wearing light blue skinny jeans, a red long sleeve shirt, and my

black ballet flats. I decided to take out my extensions and throw them away. They

were pissing me off. I'll just tell Bruno I got a haircut. I couldn't figure out how to

style it, so I ended up blow drying it with a round brush. Bruno wasn't back yet, so I

decided to watch TV. I dozed off soon after...

I woke up to the heavy pounding of my door. I was a little freaked out.

"DAISY!! We're going to be late!!" Bruno. I got up as quickly as I could. I got dizzy. I

waited for it to pass and walked over to the door and opened it. Bruno stared at me.

He looked shocked. Phil and Ari were behind him, staring at me as well.

"What happened?" Phil asked, slowly. I looked at him and touched my hair. "No, your

"It matches your shirt." Ari said bluntly. Bruno and Phil elbowed him at the same

time. I ran to the bathroom. I hesitated to look in the mirror. I slowly made my way

over. First, I saw my right eye. It was fine. I sighed. Then, I saw my left. Almost all of

the white of my eye was dark red. Broken blood vessel. I felt like throwing up. But

instead, I screamed. I started taking out my brown contacts as quickly as possible. I

threw them in the sink. I hesitated on my left contact though. I didn't want to even

look at my eye. Bruno came in running. He was about to say something when he saw

my eyes in the mirror. I looked back.

"You never told me you had blue eyes..." he said, slowly and quietly. He looked

mesmerized by my eyes. I looked down.

"I'm sorry." I felt him come up behind me. He hugged me and rested his head on my

"Don't be. I know why you did it. And don't worry about your eye. Presley had one

once. It takes about a week and a half to go away. It heals on it's own." He made me

look up at the mirror.

"I feel like a monster." I said, quietly. He looked at me sympathetically.

Poor Daisy. I was so close to singing "Just The Way You Are" to her, but this whole

'broken blood vessel' thing isn't her fault. And Phil and Ari were in the next room.

And I wasn't finished with it yet. So I decided just to say a line.

"Daisy, you're amazing, just the way you are." She looked at me and forced a smile.

She turned and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"I think we should head to the airport." she said. I nodded. I kissed her cheek and went

to the living room. Phil and Ari were sitting on the couch. They looked at me."She alright?" Ari asked.

"Yeah, she's just a little freaked out."

"Wouldn't blame her. That shit looks painful." Phil said. I thought about that. When

Presley had it, she kept saying it didn't hurt. But she would wake up in the middle of

the night grasping her eye. I think Daisy would have told me if it hurt. Daisy then

walked in, dragging her suitcase, and covering her eye. I walked over to her and

removed her hand. She was wearing an eye patch. I couldn't help but laugh. She

slightly smiled. I took it off. She pulled her bangs over her face.

"Daisy..." she ignored me. She carried her suitcase to the door and sat on it. She

started looking at her shoes. After a minute or two of awkward silence, she got back

up and went to her bedroom. Phil and Ari started whispering for me to go over there.

After moments of hesitation, I did as they said. When I got there, she was on the

balcony with Mr. Bear. She had fixed him after Cesar cut him open.

"Daisy?" I went up behind her.

"Yeah?" She turned around. Her hair was still in her face.

"You okay?" I pushed it out of the way.

"I'm fine. And I'm sorry." She looked at me and held my hand.

"For what?" I started caressing her hand with both of mine.

"For acting like this. It just bothers me. I don't even want to look at myself in the

mirror. It's gross." she smiled.

"Daisy, this isn't your fault."

"I know but it's still gross. And people are going to stare. I've always been self

conscious." she said, and I understood.

"Can we go now?" she asked, rapidly. I stared into her baby blue eyes. I'm going to

have to get used to them. I nodded and took her other hand. I pulled her in, and gave

her a kiss with the most passion I could come up with at 07:15 in the morning. I could

feel her smile in between kisses. I pulled back and hugged her tightly. I never wanted

to let go.

We landed in L.A. We went to the baggage claim and waited for someone. They didn't

tell me who. My stomach growled loudly. Bruno heard it and started laughing.

"You hungry?" he asked, still laughing. I smiled and nodded. We all headed to the

nearest McDonald's. I never liked McDonald's but at this point, I would eat anything. We ordered our food. Bruno paid for all of it. I was finally getting used to him paying

for me. But I still felt bad. We sat down, and devoured our food. I was the first one to

finish. Bruno stared at me.

"No one has ever finished eating before me." he said. Phil nodded.

"Bruno, you have competition now." Ari said, laughing. Phil and I started laughing as

well, Bruno just smiled and continued eating. I had to use the restroom. I excused

myself and headed to the restroom. I didn't have to pee though. I felt like throwing up.

This is what I get for eating so damn fast. I ran to the last stall and locked it. I stood

next to the toilet for about a minute and everything just came out. I could taste the

food coming up my throat. I closed my eyes and flushed it. I instantly felt better. But

then the felling came back. I leaned over and threw up again. Just as I was about to

flush it again, my right eye opened slightly. The toilet water was red. I opened both

my eyes and stared. It was blood. I flushed it and walked out. Should I tell Bruno?

Should I keep it a secret? What if it's serious?

While sitting on the sink, I looked up "causes of throwing up blood" on my phone.

When I clicked on a page, my heart dropped. It was either:

- the lining of my stomach or esophagus being swollen, or

- a tumor (or tumors) in my stomach or esophagus.

I'm telling him.

I sighed and decided to brush my teeth. I reached into my purse and took out my

toothbrush and toothpaste. My friends would always make fun of me because I would

carry these around. When I was done, I slowly made my way back to our table. When

Bruno saw me walking over, he smiled. But that smile dropped when I sat down.

"What's wrong?" he asked, as he took my left hand. I rubbed my forehead with my

"I just threw up." I said. Phil spit out his food all over the table. He started to clean it

"Are you..." Ari said slowly. I shook my head. Bruno took a drink of his water.

"I threw up blood." Bruno turned away from all of us and spit out all the water in his

mouth. I really wanted to laugh, but I couldn't. This was serious.

"How long do we have until Aaron gets here?" Bruno asked Phil, cleaning up the

water. Phil looked at his watch.

"Two hours." he answered. Bruno took my hand. I barely got a hold of my purse. He

started running out if the restaurant.

"Take care of our stuff?" he yelled back to Phil and Ari. They nodded.

"Where are we going?!" I just asked for the hell of it. I already knew where we were

going. We were almost out of the airport. I bumped into a lot of people. I didn't evenhave time to say 'I'm sorry'. Bruno was running fucking fast. I was practically being

dragged by him. I started to pick up my pace. When Bruno felt me running, he started

running even faster. Damn it. We got out of airport, he started flagging down a taxi. I

was trying to catch my breath. It didn't work out for him. I pushed him out of the way.

I stuck my hand out and four taxis stopped in front of us and started honking. Bruno

took my hand and we made our way to the closest taxi.

Bruno and I were sitting in the waiting room. We were the only ones in there. I

showed him my phone. It was on the page I looked at in the restroom at McDonald's.

His eyes became full of sadness. He sighed and looked at me. I looked back.

"Everything will be alright." he said, hugging me tightly. I hugged back with all the

might I had. When we let go, I saw a doctor come in and he took my clipboard that

was in a basket. He looked like he was in his late thirties. He looked at the clipboard

and then turned to the next page. His eyes opened wide. Bruno saw as well, took my

hand and squeezed it.

"Daisy Reynolds." the doctor said, looking at me. I squeezed Bruno's hand and stood

up. He stood up with me. We followed the doctor into a room.

"Ms. Reynolds, I am Dr. Sandoval. Please have a seat. I'll be right back." he left and I

sat in the chair in the middle of the room. Bruno didn't leave my side. Bruno and I

didn't say anything.

About three minutes later, the doctor came back. He sat in the chair opposite of us. He

looked at me with sympathy.

"When was the first time this happened?"

"About 35 minutes ago." Bruno said. Dr. Sandoval and I both looked at him. Bruno

smiled. The doctor started writing on his fancy clipboard.

"Alright. Have you ever vomited blood before?"

"How much blood did you regurgitate? Just guess."

"Maybe six ounces. I'm not sure."

"What color was it?" Red, obviously.

"Red..." Dr. Sandoval smiled.

"Was it bright or dark?"

"Have you had any kind of surgery surgeries lately?" I looked down at my arm. Helooked as well.

"I had a few pieces of glass stuck in my arm. Some were so far in, I needed surgery to

get them out." I saw Bruno look at the floor.

"Were you given anesthesia?"

"Yes, I was. But not enough."

"So you're saying you were awake during the surgery?" I nodded. Bruno snapped his

head up to see my answer. Then, Dr. Sandoval did a regular checkup. And he gave me

a 'cat scan'. It was the most terrifying thing in my life.

After that, he took us back to the room and left to see the results.

After 10 minutes, he came into the room.

"You don't have cancer." I let out a sigh of relief. Bruno hugged me. When we pulled

away, Dr. Sandoval continued. "But the lining of your esophagus is swollen. I would

suggest not to eat solid food in the next six hours, and you should drink a lot of

water." I nodded. He took out a small stack of papers. "I am going to prescribe you a

pain medication for swelling. And I saw your eye, so I'm going to prescribe you

something for that." He started writing. I looked at Bruno. He smiled at me and gave

me a kiss. We heard Dr. Sandoval clear his throat. We pulled away and Bruno started

laughing. Dr. Sandoval smiled as he handed me a paper.

"Thank you so much, Dr. Sandoval." I said. I shook his hand. Bruno did as well.

"My pleasure." he said. With that, Bruno and I made our way out of the hospital, hand

in hand.

"I'm so glad you're okay." Bruno said, picking up my hand and kissing the back of it.

"I am, too." I said, hugging his arm.

"Oh, so my arm gets more love than I do. I see how it is." He tried to look sad, but it

didn't work. I let go and went to hug him from behind. He saw this and quickly turned

around. I ended up hugging his front. He picked me up and kissed me passionately. I

wasn't going to turn it down. But after ten seconds, I had to push him away because

people started staring. We were still hugging and my feet were still off the ground. He

stared at me and smiled his perfect smile. I melted in his arms. I would have stayed

here forever if we didn't have to go pick up my medicine and then go to the airport.

Bruno put me down, he took my hand, and we started sprinting to the nearest

When we got there, after five minutes of sprinting, Bruno was sweating like a pig. I

wasn't sweating as much since I run a lot, and it takes lot for me to sweat. I walked

over to the pharmacist and handed him the paper Dr. Sandoval gave me. While I was

waiting, I looked over and saw Bruno sticking his head in the ice cream compartment.

I started laughing. Really loud. Everyone started staring. Bruno got scared and

jumped. He hit his head on a shelf. He took his head out and closed the door. Hewalked over to me, rubbing the back of his head. I took a tissue from the counter and

wiped the sweat off Bruno's forehead, face, and neck. He stared at me the whole time.

I stared at him. I could feel the sexual tension rising. After I finished, I moved in and

kissed Bruno's jawbone. He kissed my neck. I shivered. I knew he felt it because he

then kissed me lower. He continued to go lower until I had to push him away. We

smiled at each other. I walked off to find a trash bin to throw away the napkin. As I

threw it away, I felt Bruno behind me.

"Bruno..." he walked even closer to me and gave me a hug. I put my hands on his.

"I have to go get my medicine." I felt him smile. He nodded and kissed my shoulder.

He squeezed me and let go. He came up next to me and took my hand. We walked

over to the pharmacist, not saying a word. The man was at the counter, waiting. When

he saw me, he smiled. He handed me a small, paper bag and I thanked him.

Bruno and I started walking toward the registers.

"Are you going to get anything?" I asked. After he didn't answer, I looked at him. He

looked like he was in deep thought. I waved the paper bag in front of his face. He

shook out of this trance and looked at me.

"What were you thinking about?" I said.

"I came up with a song idea, and I didn't want to lose it." I nodded, and took a paper

and pen from my purse. I handed it to him and he gratefully took it. He let go of my

hand and started writing rapidly. His penmanship was horrible because of his rushing.

I highly doubt he could read that.

"Are you going to get anything?" I asked again, while he was rereading everything he

wrote. He looked at me smiled.

"Yeah. I'm going to get some water. Are you?" he said, looking down at his paper

again. I slowly backed away to go get his water. He didn't see me. At least I don't

think he did.

I walked over to the back of the store where they stored all the beverages. I opened the

one with mostly water and stared. I never knew there were so many brands. Of water.

They all taste the same. I didn't get Bruno's because I didn't know which one he liked.

I looked at all of them and I decided to get a SmartWater for me. Only because the

bottle looked cool. As I bent down to get it, I saw Bruno's shoes. He stood next to me

and bent down as well. He took an Aquafina, looked at me and gave me a kiss. We

stood up at the same time. He took my hand and we walked toward the register. On

our way there, we walked in the junk food aisle. I took a bag of sunflowers seeds. I

knew I couldn't eat them now. I would save them for later.

We got to the register. The lady working at it smiled at us. Well, mostly at Bruno. She

wouldn't stop staring. I didn't pay much attention to her after that. We set our stuff on

the conveyer belt. Bruno started to take out his wallet, but I beat him to it. He saw me

and gently pushed me out of the way so he was standing in front of the cashier. Hesmiled at me. I grabbed the back of his hair and pulled gently, but hard enough for

him to move back. He did and I walked in front of him. I smiled back at him. He

smiled too. He hugged me from behind. I put my hands on his. He picked me up. We

did a 180 and he set me down. I started laughing. So did Bruno. He turned around.

The cashier told Bruno how much we owed. I took a 50 from my wallet. I grabbed the

back of Bruno's jeans and pulled. He came stumbling back, I ran to the cashier and

handed her the 50. I looked back at Bruno. He was grinning from ear to ear.

"I win." I said, my hand raised in the air. He took my hand and gave me a hug.

"Enjoy it while you can. This is the only time your paying while I'm with you." he

whispered in my ear. I shivered. I gave him a kiss on the cheek. I turned around to

pick up my change. The lady glared at me and handed me $28. Bruno picked up the

bag and he took my hand. We left the store to flag down a taxi. It didn't work out for

Bruno again so I had to flag one down.

When we got to the airport, we had 5 minutes until Aaron got there. The plane took

off in an hour. While we were waiting, I took off the bandage from my arm to look at

the stitches. I didn't think the cuts were that bad, but Bruno, Phil and Ari all cringed. I

just shrugged. The doctor in Hawaii told me I only had to keep it bandaged for two

more days. I got a new bandage from my purse and Phil helped me put it on. Bruno

threw away the old one. Just as Phil finished wrapping my arm, and I thanked him,

Bruno came back with who I am presuming is Aaron. He smiled at me. I smiled back.

"Aaron, this is my girlfriend Daisy." I smiled. Bruno smiled back. "Daisy, this is our

friend Aaron." I extended out my hand. He took it.

"It's nice to meet you." I told him. He said the same. After that, we all headed to the

terminals and checked our luggage in.

We were the first ones in the plane. Bruno, Phil, Ari, and I had a row all to ourselves.

We were close to the back. I had the aisle seat. Bruno was next to me, then Phil, then

Ari. Aaron had a window seat in the third row. I took the pills for my throat and eye

before the plane took off. I rested my head on Bruno's shoulder. He looked down at

me. He gave me a kiss then started playing with my hair. I fell asleep soon after.
