I drove to Chris's mom's house in silence and when we got there Chris opened the door and then slamed it shut. He started walking towards the house and never turned around. I don't know why but I couldn't stand seeing him walking away. I opened the car door and ran towards him. He turned around. "What do you want?" He said in an angry voice. "I just....I...when are you coming back?" I asked staring at my feet because I knew I would start crying if I looked at him. He grabbed my face in his hands and made me look at him. "Tell me what's wrong baby." He said. I started crying. "I can't tell you. I'm sorry." I said. He started walking away again but I grabbed his shoulder before he got very far. "Look I still love you...but things have changed. We've changed, we've grown apart and I....nevermind." I said. He sighed. "Just forget it, I'll be back home later but...can you try not to call me or anything until I come home?" He said. "Yeah sure. Whatever..." I said storming off. I couldn't believe it, I was starting to be ready to break up with him but I let him get to me and now he was being a bit**. I got in my car and sped off as fast as I could. When I got home I layed in bed and cried. Why was my life so complicated? I was in love with Bruno but I was stuck with a guy that I used to love and couldn't stand now, at least I thought I couldn't stand him but after tonight I wasn't so sure. At around two I heard a knock on the door and I got out of bed to answer it. I was a little scared though. Who the heck goes to someone's house at two in the morning? I grabbed a baseball bat and slowly opened the door. Then I looked outside to see who it was and saw Bruno standing on my porch. "What are you doing here?!? At two in the morning?!?" I half asked half yelled. "I just wanted to come see my favorite girl." He said with that amazing smile of his. I melted, he was just too sexy. I opened the door and he started laughing. "What?" I asked. He was laughing so hard he couldn't talk, he just pointed to the baseball bat. "Stop laughing! I was scared!" I yelled. I slapped his arm and he stopped laughing. "Ow! That hurt!" He said. "No, it didn't! I don't even have any muscles!" I said. "Here, let me feel. Give me your arm." He said. "Ugh fine." I said holding out my arm. Bruno squeezed my arm and started laughing. "I'm going to bed!" I said. I went to bed and layed there for a few minutes before Bruno walked in. "You still mad?" He asked. I wasn't, but I decided not to say anything to see what he would do. "Come on baby, don't be mad." He said wrapping his arms around me. I turned over and looked at him. We layed like that for hours and by morning I had every tiny detail of his face engraved in my brain, his mouth, his eyes, his nose, his cheeks, his chin, everything. He started to get out of bed but I grabbed his hand and pulled him back down. "Don't leave me, please." I said. He looked at me then laughed. "I don't get it." He said walking towards the kitchen. I fell back asleep really fast and a while later the smell of something burning woke me up. I jumped out of bed to make sure Bruno was ok, "Bruno? Bruno? BRUNO?? Where are you???" I yelled. The kitchen was filled with thick black smoke. Bruno came running out of it coughing really badly. "Bruno!" I screamed. I grabbed him and held him close to me. He couldn't stop coughing and I was really worried about him. I got him a cup of water and made him drink it then I carefully layed him on the floor and ran into the smoke trying to find the fire. I covered my mouth and nose with my hands but it was useless. I couldn't see anything. I ran back out and ran into the bathroom. I grabbed a big cup and filled it with water then I ran back to the kitchen and threw the water into the smoke. It took forever but after a few hours the fire was out. bruno was still laying on the floor coughing. I ran over to him with another a cup of water. "Here, drink it." I said. He drank the water and then stopped coughing as much. I took him to the bed and then went into the living room and sat on the couch. Bruno came walking in a little later and sat beside me. "I'm sorry, I guess I should just stay out of the kitchen." He said with a laugh. "Ya think? You almost got your self killed! What were you trying to make?" I asked. "Um....waffles." He said looking embarassed. I laughed but when I looked at Bruno he had a really sad look on his face and I stopped right away. "It's ok baby. I can't cook worth a sh*t, you're not alone." I said. Bruno laughed. "I can just get Phil to come cook for us. He's an ok cook...sometimes." He said with a laugh. We looked at each other and started laughing really hard for no reason. It was like one of those moments you have with your best friend. We spent most of the morning trying to clean the kitchen up and when we finished we sat down on the couch together. "So whatcha wanna do now?" He asked. "Sing me a song." I said. He thought for a minute then started singing. It was a song I recognized immediatly. "Killa on the run". Me and one of my best friends sang that song all the time. When he finished that song he started sing another song that I recognized right away too. It was "Our first time". I smiled and looked at Bruno. I loved the way he sang, he wasn't like some singers who just sang with no expression at all. He had so much passion for his music. You could tell he really cared about music. He wasn't in it for money or fame. He loved singing and performing. It was in his blood. It was just one of the many reasons I loved him.
I loved the way that she watched me sing. When I did a concert or something, everyone watched me sing. But the way she watched me...it was so....I don't know, different. I watched her too though. She did everything with so much rhythm and she was so beautiful. I glanced at her hand to see if she was wearing the ring, she was. I smiled. "What?" She asked. "You're wearing your ring." I said. "Well yeah, I love this ring." She said. "Let's go somewhere." I said. "Ok,where do you want to go?" She asked. I smiled mischeviously. "Vegas!" "Ok. I've always wanted to go to Vegas but no one would take me." She said. "Alright, go pack your clothes. We'll leave in a few hours, I'll go buy the plane tickets." I said. In a few hours we were on a plane heading to Vegas. Katie started laughing. "What?" I asked. "I just find it funny that when you're bored we go to some other state." She said. I laughed. "Yeah well, this is how us famous people spend our free time. And we're getting married so you better get used to it." I said. She smiled. "What now?" She asked. "I'm so happy we're getting married. I love you." She said. "I'm happy too and I love you too." I said. The seatbelt light came on. "Almost there." I said with a smile. "Yay! Wait, did you book a hotel? Or rent a car?" She asked. "Dam* it! No, I forgot. But come on, I'm Bruno freaking Mars. I'm sure we'll be able to find something." I said. "Oh sh*t! We forgot something else. What if the paparazzis put a picture of us in some magazine?" She asked. "Will you just forget about that? If you don't want to get married just tell me, stop playing this game." I said. "No I want to get married but....I've been with Chris for six years and I don't want to hurt him." She said. "Ok I get it, you still love him. It's fine, you don't have to stay with me. I know you don't love me as much so maybe it would be better if we stopped seeing each other." I said. She slapped me. Hard. I didn't see it coming, she didn't seem like the kind of person that would slap someone so it really surprised me. "What was that for?!?" I yelled. Everyone on the plane was staring at us now but she didn't seem to care. "Don't you ever fu*king say that again! I love you Bruno, more than I've ever loved anyone else. I've wanted to break up with Chris for so long but we were best friends for a really long time then we started dating and a few weeks later he asked me to marry him but I said no because it was to early for me. We've known each other so long. And I really don't want to hurt him. I care about him but I care about him like someone cares about their cousin." She said. "Baby I'm sorry, I've just had my heart broken so many times and I don't want to lose you. I love you." I said. The plane landed and we started getting off. I noticed Katie stayed really close to me in the airport. I think she was nervous. I don't blame her though. Vegas could be scary. There were a bunch of people here and this was a big city. She was so cute, she looked like a little kid trying not to get lost in a store with their mom. I reached down and held her hand. She looked up at me and smiled. We went to pick up our bags and then went to the car rental area. The guy at the desk was looking down at some papers. "Hi um we need a car." I said. "I'm sorry sir, we don't have any more to rent out." He said still looking down. "Are you sure you can't find something?" I asked. He looked up. "Oh, we might have something. Let me go look." He said. I looked at Katie and smiled. "See, being famous has some perks." I said. The guy came back. "We don't have any cars but you can take mine if um..." He said pushing a picture of me towards him. I laughed. "Sure, who's it for?" I asked. "My daughter, Reilly." He said. I singned it and he handed me some keys. "It's the red porsche out front." He said. "Thanks." I said walking away. Katie looked at me and laughed. "The things people do for an autograph." She said. "Yeah, it's not the weirdest thing that's happened." I said. We walked outside and I found the car right away, it was crazy. The car looked really really expensive. I couldn't believe the guy let me take it. I was an awful driver. We got in the car. "So where to?" I asked. "I don't know, MGM I guess, I went there when I was thirteen and it was really cool." She said. "Alright, MGM it is." I said. I started to pull out of the parking lot. "Wait, do you know how to get there?" I asked. "Um no, I'm really bad with directions and finding my way around." She said. I laughed. "Me too. Maybe we should have brought Phil." I said. "Call him, I don't want to get lost every few minutes." She said. We both laughed and I picked up my phone and called Phil. "Hey, can you come help me and Katie with something?" I asked. "Sure, what is it?" He asked. "Well we're in Vegas but we're both really bad with directions. Can you come over here?" I asked. "Wow, really?" He asked. "Uh yeah. You know how lost I get." I said. "I'll be there in an hour." He said. "Thank you." I said. Exactly an hour later Phil's plane landed and we went inside to get him. Phil looked at Katie. "I thought Bruno getting a girlfriend would keep him from getting lost, not give me another person to keep from getting lost." He said. We all laughed. "Come on, the car's out here." I said. "You wanna drive too?" Phil rolled his eyes. "You want me to feed you and change your diaper too?" He asked. "Uh yeah, if you don't mind." I said. We laughed again then started walking towards the car. "Wow! Nice car!" Phil said. "Yep and all I had to do was give the guy an autograph." I said. Phil laughed. "I can't believe he let you drive his car! You're a terrible driver!" He said. "Yeah but what he doesn't know won't kill him." I said with a laugh. Phil got in the car and started it. "Man, I want a car like this!" He said. We drove to MGM and stayed for a while. "You want to stay here?" I asked Katie. "Yeah, sure." She said with a smile. I went up to the front desk. "Do you have any open rooms?" I asked. "No, but I have an idea." The lady said. "What is it?" I asked. "We need someone to perform tonight. If you do it I can find you a room." She said. "Ok, I'll need two rooms that connect." I said. "Alright, I'll see what I can do. Be here at nine ready to perform." She said. We walked down the strip for a while but at eight we had to go back to the hotel so I could get ready. At eight thirty me, Katie and Phil walked down to the lobby. "Hey, I'm here." I said. The front desk lady smiled. "Good, right on time." She said. "Can they come watch?" I asked pointing to Katie and Phil. "I'm sorry, the show's sold out. There's no more room." She said. "I'm sorry guys. Maybe you could take that car and go somewhere." I said. "Alright, we'll be back later." Phil said. He opened the door for Katie. "Right this way miss." He said. "Hey Phil! Don't get any ideas." I said trying to keep a serious face. Phil rolled his eyes and left. I walked into a dimly lit room and went to the stage. There weren't many people there, only about fifty. I started playing and at first everyone was just sitting there ignoring me but after ten minutes they were all dancing and singing along. Nobody can resist my music. When I finished performing I signed some autographs and then went up to our hotel room. Phil and Katie came up about twenty minutes later. "How do you like Vegas?" I asked. "It's awesome. I love it." She said. "It's pretty cool but it would be better if I wasn't babysitting you two." He said laughing. "Ha ha ha." I said in a sarcastic voice. "Come on Katie, let's go." I said grabbing her hand and leading her into our bedroom and like they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas....at least for most people, but like always it was different for me.
